Iris USOA393 IRISCard Pro 4 Business Card Scanner Review

I had always wanted to try this scanner to organize my collection of business cards. So I bought it and never liked it. It does not work. I scanned over 50 cards so far and had to literally correct or type addresses and phone numbers, etc. Especially, it never captured the company names correctly at all. Only thing that I liked was the software but you can get similar software elsewhere for far much less. Therefore, please do not waste your money on this device. I think that this scanner is worth probably $25 or less.

Genius ColorPage BR600 Portable Business Card Scanner Review

At $30, this biz card reader was inexpensive enough (compared to other card readers) that I decided to buy it to see what it can do before making a larger investment in another reader. It's barely worth the $30, however, because it's below basic. That is, it reads almost no font other than Ariel or Times Roman-type fonts. With fancy fonts, forget it. You must type the info into the fields. The name "ColorPage" is truly misleading because this thing won't read most cards that are anything but white or very light colors, such as beige. If it's color, it can't read it (so the name really irritates me). If the card is laid out length-wise rather than the standard way, the reader often gets confuses and can't read it properly, forcing you to type the info. A major problem is if the card has any handwriting at all on it (such as many that I must process because people add personal email addresses, etc.), the reader can't handle this and gives you Greek. So, you end up typing in the info. Last, you cannot add any fields to what's provided, which are insufficient. So it misses additional info that must be handled manually in your database program or wherever else.

SUMMARY: If you have many standard, light-colored biz cards to process, this unit will do the job at the very basic level and save you some time. All other cards you must handle manually.

Belkin 10FT CAT5E Patch Cable ( A3L791B10 ) Review

The cable I purchased is not the one pictured, and I can tell you why. It
is a 'bulk' style cable made by Belkin (I checked the UPC registry), NOT
the PRO Series pictured with the strain relief.
The PRO Series from Belkin has the strain relief, model numbers ending in
-S, e.g. A3L791-25-S purchased from Amazon. Be aware of this, I see other
reviewers complained also. The FastCAT 5e series also has strain relief,
e.g. part #A3L850-07KS-MOD. The 'S' in the part # means strain relief as
part of the manufacture. Look for this when buying Belden cables and you
won't feel deceived or burned by the seller, unless they ship the wrong
part number to you. In this case make sure what you're buying first. Even
so I had no problem using these bulk style cables.

NeatReceipts Mobile Scanner and Digital Filing System for Mac Review

To say that this product is a junk is an understatement. What a sore disappointment. This is truly a waste of your precious $$$. Those people who have given this product any more than 3 stars obviously have no idea what a real document scanner looks like or works like; for example, the ScanSnap scanners from Fujitsu. Actually I may have given the Neat Receipts a slightly better rating if I had not tried or seen a ScanSnap myself after owning a Neat Receipts. Spend a hundred or two more and get a REAL document scanner (I recommend Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M). PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CHECK THE REVIEWS ON OTHER SCANNERS! This is why: the speed on this scanner is agonizing sloooow and the OCR software is even slower and unreliable AND also crashes once in a while in a rock-solid UNIX environment that is the Mac OS X Leopard! WOW; ARE YOU KIDDING ME? No, no, this product isn't meant to be real, it must be a joke; in fact it would be a great gift as a prank for your favorite friend if you want to drive him/her nuts from frustration.
